What is microblading?
Microblading is the process of implanting color pigment beneath the surface of the skin using a blade consisting of tiny, sterile, disposable needles to produce the appearance of hair strokes, makeup, or to enhance the natural features of the face.
does it hurt?
A highly-effective, topical anesthetic cream is used for numbing before your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable during the procedure. on average, clients claim it is a 2-5 on the pain scale out of 10. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure. If you are a frequent smoker, the topical anesthetics used during the procedure will not last as long. If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.
what about botox?
Botox will interfere with the shaping of your brows so it is recommended to get Botox atleast 30 days before your appointment or 2 weeks after.
How long is the session?
Your initial session can take up to 1-2 hours depending on how much work needs to be done. The duration consists of consultation, numbing, mapping and microblading.
Am i the right candidate for microblading?
There are only a few instances where microblading wouldn't be right for you. If you are pregnant, as a precaution we will not perform the service as their is a risk of infection.
If you have extremely oily skin, the hair stroke eyebrow technique may not work very well for you. The constant production of oil will cause the hair strokes to heal with a diffused, softer look. Your end result will look more powdered than you would expect. We recommend powder brows for extremely oily skin.
If you have little to no existing hair or coarse hair, your tattoo will appear more 2-dimensional than those clients who have more hair, or naturally finer hair.
If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment may fade sooner.
If you are iron deficient or Anemic, your pigment may fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure.
If you are currently going through chemotherapy, please wait at least 3 months post to get microblading done because like with any tattoo, there is a risk of infection
PLEASE NOTE: If you have had your eyebrows previously tattooed, we will need to do a consultation before booking. We cannot guarantee results for cases such as these. In some instances where the previous work is too dark, dense, discolored, or large, tattoo removal will be highly recommended before our services will be considered. Previously tattooed areas will almost always require additional sessions and will be charged accordingly. Some special cases may be considered. Please contact us with any further questions.
How long will they last?
Cosmetic tattoo treatments are considered semi-permanent and will not wash off, however, they will fade over time and may need to be refreshed every 1-2 years. Frequency of sessions depends on a number of factors including: the pigment used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sweat, sun exposure) and if any chemical peels come into contact with treated areas. Please note that final results CAN NOT be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your second session and make any changes necessary. Multiple sessions are normal for cosmetic tattoo procedures, with each new procedure requiring a minimum of 2 visits. Your second session can be booked no sooner than 2 months after the initial appointment. Additional sessions will be charged according to our current pricing.
how should i prepare for my appointment?
If you have an ideal shape in mind, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment. (This does not necessarily mean you will get those exact brows as everyones face is different) You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you desire. (Again, this does not mean you will get those exact brows. Please trust your artist to do what’s best.) Do not remove any hairs at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment. The more the hair, the better. If there are any stray hairs that fall outside of our final shape, we can remove them. If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 14 days after the procedure. We require our clients to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen. Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume. If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure. It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 2 weeks BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a new tan or a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.
Whats the healing process?
Your semi-permanent makeup will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first few days. They will become dry and peel, before gradually lightening during the complete healing process. Redness and swelling is minimal.
How do i book an appointment?
Appointments for eyebrows can only be made via our online booking system. We do not book in person, over the phone, or via email. Appointments with the other artists are available online, 24/7. Please note that a deposit is required to schedule and secure your appointment and is deducted from the total price. This deposit is to ensure that you are serious about your appointment and is non-refundable or transferrable. If you cancel or miss your appointment, you will simply forfeit your deposit.
CAn i bring a friend to my appointment?
Sure you can. We have plenty of seating in our main waiting area where your friend can enjoy movies and shows while waiting for you. Company is not allowed in room where service is being provided and no children are allowed in the studio, either. We want our clients to be able to relax and enjoy their beauty service without having to be on mom mode, we know first hand how it is.
Do I get to see the shape before?
Of course! Your artist will take their time to map out a beautiful shape for you and will let you “ok” the shape before they start. This moment is very important to go over anything that makes you uncomfortable as these are the moments right before the tattoo. It’s also very important for you to trust your artist and not go overboard on micro changes. Only book when you are confident enough in your artist, please.
